The Perfect Guide to Being a Leftovers' Fan

Written by: Missy Ortiz

Have you ever wanted to be the world's greatest fan of your favorite TV series? There are numbers of people out there guys, huge quantities of The Leftovers' Fans. Last year, there were several "Lefties" showing their spirit and representing Season One on "Departure Day" (October 14), and Halloween. People from all over the world were sending in their photos and tweeting left and right about their pride!

We've all seen or heard about Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings' fanatics and how they get outrageously creative with hosting marathon parties and dressing up for their events. This can be done with The Leftovers, only on more subtle terms, so to speak. Here are a few recommendations to be on this side of the fence with us, in other words, here's the perfect guide to being a true, committed Leftovers fan.

In just seven easy steps, you can prepare for the premiere of season two happening this Sunday. If you are already ahead of the game and up to par, awesome! Shown below are some fans in uniform proclaiming their faith.

Step #1. ALWAYS do your homework. Go on out and look for a copy of Tom Perrotta's novel! Find yourself a rare issue of The National Geographic May 1972 edition. Binge read it! Re-watch Season 1! If you haven't already, get HBO NOW, literally!

Step #2: Decor, decor, decor! Surround yourself with symbols that remind you of The Leftovers. For instance, if you love that deer that starred in Season 1, find some deer figures to decorate your home! Make an awesome, crafty calendar to hang on your wall! Might as well get ready for Halloween, it's right around the corner anyway. Did you just rip that last ply of paper towel off the roll like Nora Durst did on Departure Day? So Feng shui!  Use your imagination and just wander off into Leftovers Land. There really is such a place. Now, they're calling it "Miracle".

Step #3: Follow other fans on social media and look for awesome podcasts like The Living Reminders and The Guilty Remnant. This will bring you in even deeper than you imagined! You can also join groups on Facebook like The Leftovers Chat. You can meet new people and discuss theories together about the show. Make that community grow!

Step #4: Lights, Wardrobe, Action! You've got to have a white shirt lingering around somewhere and some white pants hanging in the closet. If not, you don't have to go and buy an expensive new ensemble just to be initiated into the GR. Lots of thrift stores and Goodwill have scrubs or apparel that are suitable, as long as it's all in white, right? White top, white pants, white socks, white shoes! Have fun with it!

Step #5: Have your playlist ready! Last season's soundtrack was unbelievable and really moving. From Max Richter's divine score for the series, to James Blake's groovy "Retrograde", these tunes are sure to really set the mood in for that Leftover's vibe! Plus, Season 2 has got to have some awesome new ear-candy for us!

Step #6: Eat Leftovers! Just kidding! You can eat whatever you want. But no really, enjoy a family cooked meal together. Sunday is a day to be thankful for being with your loved ones. Someday, they might be gone.

Step #7: Let Patti say it for us...

What will your plans will be this Sunday for the premiere of The Leftovers Season Two?
